What the Smoke Alarm Monitor actually adds

This matters during testing. A household should not expect the app to clear the instant the audible alarm stops. Record the trigger time, phone-alert time, hub state, audible state, and restore time. If a test creates repeated events, keep the record rather than dismissing it as noise; repeated triggers can expose placement, tone, or workflow problems.
Battery and maintenance
The product page advertises a four-year battery-life figure, while the support guide identifies the actual replaceable battery as a 3V CR123A lithium cell and explains low-battery signaling. Treat the four-year number as a published expectation, not a household guarantee. Temperature, radio conditions, alarm events, storage history, battery quality, and service conditions can affect life.
Abode says the red LED flashes every four seconds when the battery is low and the hub/app receives a low-battery signal. An exhausted battery stops the monitor from functioning.
