1. Confirm that the opening is actually an emergency route

Record the room, floor, window type, clear opening, sill height, well dimensions, ladder or steps, cover, screen, security hardware, outside landing, route to safety, and who owns each component. Photograph the closed, partly open, fully open, inside-release, well, ladder, cover, drainage, outside approach, labels, and existing damage.

40-minute egress-window acceptance test

  1. Photograph the window, frame, latch, screen, release, well, cover, ladder, landing, route, sensor, camera, labels, and existing damage.
