3. Vacant

The perimeter is armed using the alarm provider’s approved workflow. Exterior alerts become more sensitive only if someone is responsible for reviewing them. A named door or window opening during vacancy should outrank broad motion. Lighting should support a safe entrance and normal occupancy pattern without disturbing neighbors.

4. Maintenance

Issue a separate temporary credential for the technician and give it a narrow start and end time. Pause only the zones needed for the job. 5. Emergency

Keep emergency actions manual and obvious. The runbook should show how to contact emergency services, the monitoring provider, the local property responder, and the guest. A practical turnover rule is:

  1. The cleaner closes and physically latches every mapped opening.
  2. The app shows each sensor in the expected state.
